Information for Applicants
Referrals may be made through our community partners, however, an appointment for a personal interview with the applicant is required with GAHP staff. You may bring a representative with you. Income verification from all sources is required for an application to be filed. ID for each member residing in the GAHP unit (photo ID for those 18 years and older) is also required at the time of the interview. We will assist applicants in filling out applications for rent geared to income housing with Niagara Regional Housing. |
|
The housing services program is a transitional supportive housing program. The goal is to provide temporary relief through rent subsidies for persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It gives those in residence the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Clients in the residential program are required to participate in supportive programming provided by GAHP and its partners. This is best achieved when the clients are committed to attaining housing self-sufficiency within three years. For more information or to apply for our housing program please click here. |

Landlords and Properties |
|
GAHP develops headleases with local landlords to secure rental accommodation then sublets suitable units to identified clients. GAHP pays the negotiated rent to the contracted landlords. The client pays their subsidized rent to GAHP. This ensures both the client and the landlord have secured tenancies. To enquire about our landlord program, please click here . |

Poverty is Pink 80% of our clients are single mothers with children. All of these families are considered to be ‘working poor’ or are receiving government assistance such as unemployment benefits, social assistance and disability pensions. |
